Ten Cate leaves Ajax and heads for Chelsea.
The Ajax coach will be working within Avram Grant’s coaching staff, after following the departure of former boss Jose Mourinho.
Last week, Henk Ten Cate asked Ajax to negotiate with Chelsea after Chelsea contacted him personally and the Dutch Ajax agreed to this request.
According Dutch Media, Ten Cate is expected to sign a three-year deal worth nine-million-euros (12.6m dollars).
Ten Cate was assistant coach to Frank Rijkaard at Barcelona when they won the Champions League and became Ajax coach in May 2006 on a two-year contract.
