I can hear you think… Satellite TV on your PC Is it real cable or satellite quality? Why do I need +3000 channels and most of them aren’t even from my country. I was extremely skeptical when I first heard about the programs which allowed you to watch TV on your computer… were they really worth it?

As you know; I love films and TV, but on one condition; it has to be great quality! I have a Media Centre which is the almost the best money can buy and if I would go with internet TV then I wanted the “absolute” best.

Well I can tell you now my friends; I have been using this software for Satellite TV on your PC on my pc for a few months now…it’s awesome!

I did tons of research (for well over 2 months), buying, testing out trails and simply playing around with several software packs and I finally found one that actually did what it claimed and was very easy to use…

Now I get access to over 3000 TV stations from all around the world!… I’ll tell you about the program in a second…

It’s great because I didn’t have to sign any contract or pay any monthly fees…at all…and I get access to pretty much every TV, movie, music, sports, educational and even kids channel  from 78 Countries Around The World…just too many to list.

The best part is the sports games! I’ve watched the US sports NFL, NBA and NHL and also all the football leagues from Europe and South America, I even watched Cricket from India for the first time in my life (although I’m still learning the rules;)).  

This is all in great quality and you can hook your computer up to your TV just like I did, or just sit back and watch the game outside, or anywhere you like that has an internet connection!

There’s also no extra hardware or "special computer card" or anything else you need to buy…its all software based and included with the program.

It’s funny because I actually use Satellite TV on your PC more then I do my own television now haha…

The quality is really good and I get all the cable channels for free like HBO, Showtime, even special pay-per-view broadcasts, they’re all there.

I mean it’s really amazing when you start looking at the huge value you get for just such a tiny one time fee of $49.95. If you have a satellite system and pay every month for a 1/4 of the channels you get here…you’re getting ripped off.

It’s always fun to take photographs of sunrises and sunsets, although it can be tricky at times. What follows are some tips to help you get the shot you want.

1. Take time and plan ahead. While you can spontaneously take sunset or sunrise pictures, planning is usually a good idea. There may be a particular location, park, ocean, or mountain range that you want to visit. The best part about sunrises and sunsets is that they are always changing, and shots minutes apart can be vastly different. Take time to watch the changing light and clouds.

2. Stay out late, or wake up early. The sun does not necessarily have to be in a sunrise or sunset photo. You can either stay out after the sun has set, or get up early before the sun rises. Because the sun is so bright, the contrast with the morning or evening sky can be drastic, and it will be easier when the sun is not in the frame.

3. Experiment with bracketing. Bracketing allows you to take 3 of the same photos with different exposures. You will want to expose for one shot, and then the additional shots: one stop over exposed, and one stop underexposed. As an example, you can start at F8, and then the next two shots will be at F5.6 and F11.

4. Find silhouettes. You can create a silhouette if the background is properly exposed and the foreground objects are dark. You can do this by finding an area of the sky to set your exposure, and then compose your photo.

5. Always bring a tripod with you. There may be a time where you want a long exposure, or the light is low, and you will need your tripod.

6. Experiment with different settings. To get warm tones in your photo, try shooting sunrises and sunsets using the "cloud" or "shade" setting, as apposed to auto white balance.

Have fun with sunrises and sunsets. You can also use the wonderful lighting to photograph the landscape around you. Remember that you may want to use F16 or F22 to get more in focus.

I used to be a huge movie fan, whether they were classics or adventure, I loved watching them. “Unfortunately” in 2007 my career as problogger began and my movie watching days were over. One of my harddisks down stairs still has about 250 – 300 GB full of movies that I still want to see (I’ve seen a lot of them already but I want to see them again).  

Even though my watching days are over I still have interest in some directors like the mastermind Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino is also on the list that I found compiled by Alex Billington on firstshowing. The article is called The Best 19 Movies You Didn’t See in 2007 and he’s right most of them I didn’t see, hmmm.

The best movies of 2007 are for me probably Grindhouse by directors Robert Rodriguez and Tarantino and Gone Baby Gone directed by Ben Affleck. Go have a look, it’s a great list and Alex Billington knows his movies.

Today I was surfing around in the Blogosphere and I wasn’t looking for anything specific. I landed somehow on this blog called Curious Cat which is a Science and Engineering blog.

As most of you know by now I love screen real estate whether it is on my desk or a Big LCD Digital Photo Frame hanging on my wall.

This rear projection DLP system is a 2880 x 900 curved monitor from Alienware. Unfortunately there aren’t any prices available but the release is already scheduled for the second half of this year.

You don’t have to be a modern man to have a wireless keyboard and mouse. Now a day’s almost every household has at least one wireless set. I alone have already have 3 sets on my desk.

The team of Dreamlab Technologies has hacked two wireless keyboards from Microsoft. Dreamlab warns that it is possible to “sniff” the keyboard strokes that are made. What this means is that it is possible to capture and decrypt keystrokes, meaning that user names, passwords, bank details or confidential correspondence can be very easily copied.

More and more keyboards and mousses are using Bluetooth these days but the majority still uses a rf-connection. Dreamlab Technologies examined this type and it seems that the security is lacking on these models.

Dreamlab used the Wireless Optical Desktop 1000- and 2000-models from Microsoft for the hack. The Swiss data company used a radio transmitter and self written software to capture the keystrokes

The software listens to the made keystrokes and decrypt them within seconds. As soon as the keyboard communicates with the computer a data package is send over and the Dreamlab software intercepts that and uses this for the decrypting of the keystrokes. Hacking wireless keyboards this way is extremely easy

Microsoft Australia and Microsoft USA have confirmed it. There are again problems with Windows Vista. James Bannan from APCMag.com had some troubling times with the new Operating System. Now it seems that when you update your drivers, in this case the DirectX drivers. You might need to reactive your copy of Vista. The solution: call Microsoft and have it reactivated again!

Last Monday on October first, Sony introduced the next Generation TV’s called the OLED-TV. The screen of the XEL-1 is only 3mm thick.

OLED Technology has many advantages against LCD. Some of them are that you can view it from any angle, the screen is very thin and because of this it can even be flexible, the colour response time is very low and the contrast is simple amazing.

Earlier this year at the Expo in Japan, Sony showed off two Organic EL Models, a 27 inch full HD (1,920×1,080) and a 11 inch WVGA model (1024 x 600). Sony now started with the production of the 11 inch and 3mm thick XEL-1 model.

The Sony XEL-1 is supplied with an HDMI port, satellite tuner, USB and Ethernet connection.

has a lifespan of 30.000 viewing hours which is good for 10 years viewing “experience” when it’s on for 8 hours a day.

You can find it in the stores on December first but unfortunately the new TV’s will only be on sale in Japan. The production is now set at 2000 models a month.

The Price of the Sony XEL-1 is $ 1750,-.
